In the third quarter of 2021, the performance of the top consumer finance apps on the Android platform in Germany varied significantly in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends observed for each app:

Sparkasse Ihre mobile Filiale saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads. Starting at about 28.8K downloads in late June, the app experienced some dips and peaks, reaching a high of approximately 35.1K downloads by the end of September. The app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users ranging from around 3.5M to 3.9M throughout the quarter.

VR Banking Classic had a stable yet slightly declining trend in downloads, from roughly 15.5K downloads at the start of the quarter to about 12.1K by the end. The number of weekly active users remained relatively steady, fluctuating around 1.3M, with a slight increase to nearly 1.4M by the end of September.

Pay – Die Bezahl-App experienced varied download numbers, starting at around 17.4K and ending at approximately 9.8K downloads per week. The app's active user base showed a modest increase, moving from about 47.6K to over 50.1K active users by the end of the quarter.

The weekly active users for bunq also showed growth, rising from approximately 32.9K to nearly 80K by the end of the period.

ING Banking to go had relatively stable download numbers, beginning at about 7.4K downloads and ending the quarter at around 6.9K. The weekly active users for ING Banking to go remained consistent, with numbers hovering between 700K and 760K throughout the quarter.
